We have started this website for many reasons, but mostly to have a place to display some of the projects that we are working on and to make them available to whomever wants to see them.  We'd love to hear any comments you might have as well.

We have now published a book for 7 to 11 year old children called Mr. Happy Man.  It is available for the Kindle on Amazon by this link: Mr. Happy Man.  You can read a summary of Mr. Happy Man on our books blog page here.  If you don't own a Kindle, you can download a free application that enables you to read any Amazon Kindle book (including Mr. Happy Man) on your home personal computer or on virtually any Apple device.  The application is available on the same page where you will find Mr. Happy Man if you use the link included above.  You can get a free preview of Mr. Happy Man on Google books by this link: books.google.com/books

Also, we've written some novels that we hope to publish in the near future on Amazon as well.  For the moment we have included the first chapter only, which you can read by clicking here.  If you like contemporary fiction, try The Kid.  If you like suspense and a bit of gore, try Urban Gothic.  If anyone would like to read more, please let us know.

In the arts/craft area, we hope you will enjoy looking at our jewelry and sculptures.  All of the stones came from the beaches of Cape Cod and usually from Herring Cove Beach.  Anyone who has collected beach stones knows that one of the problems is that they are prettiest when wet.  Once they have been in the sun awhile, people tend to wonder why they picked them up in the first place.  To keep the wet look, we have applied a clear sealant.  We don't do anything else to the stones except to sometimes drill a hole to connect the stone to a piece of wood or to allow it to hang from a necklace.  Their shapes and colors have been formed naturally by the action of glaciers and of the waves and tides.  They are not meant to be anything but what they are – pretty and sometimes very interesting stones.  Please don’t confuse them with something of great value, except insofar as you may value beautiful things made by nature over the course of many thousands of years.

If you would like to see the jewelry, please click
here.  We are selling them for $20.00 each unless another price is specified.  Any sort of necklace would work, but you might want to stick with something simple.  We include an adjustable leather or satin necklace with each stone for no additional charge.

If you would like to understand our thinking behind the various categories that we have assigned to the jewelry -- picture stones, rainbow stones, healing stones, survivor stones and heart stones -- please click
here

If you would like to see the sculptures, please click here.

If you see a piece of jewelry or sculpture that you like, e-mail us by clicking
ken@randh71productions.com.  We also invite you to visit our site on ETSY, www.etsy.com/shop/randh71, where we also are selling our jewelry and sculpture.

Maybe you would like to see more things that we have made from beach stones and driftwood.  Try this other website of ours, www.beachstonestuff.com

The polished stone blog is just a place where we are going to post interesting rocks and talk a little bit about how they came to look the way that they do.

We are also working on a cookbook with the strange title of "The Poultice Cookbook".  Yes, we do know that a poultice is usually defined as a mixture of herbs and medicinal items that is placed on an aching muscle or perhaps a wound.  The use of the term for a cookbook started as a joke.  One night, after mixing together leftovers and some newly chopped vegetables and spices someone said, "That's quite a poultice you've got there."  We now use that name for a dinner made up of whatever leftovers we can find in the refrigerator along with freshly chopped vegetables and spices and a little bit of sauce.  They are healthy and taste good and we rarely throw anything away.  We hope you will enjoy them as well.  Go to our cooking blog and click on "Poulices we have known".
